Astra Labs is built around a simple observation: most R&D-driven companies fail not because the technology is wrong, but because the path from innovation to durable product is undefined. Smart ideas sit in labs. Promising prototypes die in pilot purgatory.
We structured the company to close that gap. The innovations and services side does the research and the early customer work. inspired.design takes what's ready and turns it into product — with a brand, a commercial story, and a long-term market position. One company, two functions, deliberately separated.
Today, inspired.design is focused on a single vertical we believe is structurally underserved in XR: education. The school district is the most important customer in XR over the next decade, and almost nothing built so far has been designed for them. That's the wedge.

Astra's patent portfolio covers the foundational interaction patterns that make XR practical at classroom scale. Granted and pending claims span four core areas:
- Ergonomic interaction systems for head-mounted displays.
- Pickup-and-go interaction patterns for first-time XR users.
- Session-based workflows for shared XR devices in classroom and training settings.
- Hygiene and handoff systems for multi-user device deployments.
